“Yes it’s effective. I think it was the best event over the past 2 years. Everybody understood the purpose, the direction, and the intention of the event. It was the most effective.

– Nakajima Nobuhiko, Assistant Managing Director, Yamaha Motor Distribution Singapore

I have enjoyed the activity here today. The most interesting thing is that we get to learn about the traditional local culture. I found the Drama Mama segment very interesting, enjoyable, and very helpful for our team building activity. It was a little bit challenging for the team, but every team did so well. It was a very well-designed game.

– Ishii Takeo, Managing Director, Yamaha Motor Asia-Pacific, Yamaha Motor Distribution Singapore

“Yeah. Definitely. The activites organised by Village Singapura was very interactive, very diversed. It really reflected the value of diversity which we try to embody in our company, in BP. Yes, I highly recommend it, especially for big teams, their different stations where they do different challenges. It’s full of surprises as well. So we get to learn about ourselves and also other people. It’s highly recommended. Thanks for having us!”

– Miles Horca ,Head Of HR, Shipping Eastern Hemisphere and Maritime Employment Businesses at BP

“It’s an awesome programme. We loved it. And we knew about Singapore and not only our friends out there, we can do a great skit. Great programme.

– Kumar ,HR Business Partner, IST, Eastern Hemisphere at BP

“We had great fun today. We come together and had much fun.

– Kellie Twigge , Head of HR, IST, Eastern Hemisphere at BP

Today, we have this big events with around 300 people so we really enjoy ourselves. I really enjoyed all the events.
It was very well organized. The timing was perfect.”

– Christophe Augendre , Offshore ICSS Manager, INPEX

“My favorite activity I need to be very honest was the paper cutting. It was very nice and double happiness. I learned today so it was very interesting for me.”

– Guenter Feth, Manager, Hima

“I enjoy the candy-making session. It was actually similar to what Koreans have in traditional history.
We also have candy called “yeot” which is similar to making this kind of sticky candies. My favorite activity today was “drama mama”. It was a really good activity to have an interaction between our company employees and we also get to know about the history of Singapore through the activities and it really helps to have a team-building session throughout those many various activities.”

– Stella Park, Manager, Samsung Heavy Industries

Today’s event was quite fun. Especially the chapteh event and the drama event where we get to work with one another as a team to come up with the drama. So i think this works with our communication with one another. So we feel that this is definitely an important skill that would translate to the workplace.

Raymond, Field Development Consultant , Kumon Singapore

Definitely. It was a lot of fun. I had a great time with my colleagues. Good to know. Hidden skills and hidden talents that they had which I didn’t even know they existed. Overall, it was a fun day.

Vinusha, Field Development Consultant , Kumon Singapore

My name is Yamashita. Kumon. Vice President. It’s very fun and very interesting.

Yamashita, Vice-President, Kumon Asia & Oceania

I loved it. It was a lot of fun. It was easy to relax. You guys made it easy for everyone to participate. The game was a bit of history
and also we have to create it. So yeah. It was good.

Allan Menagh, General Manager, Kumon Singapore

“I think this is a wonderful experience. And we also feel that the organizer manage to bring us back to the 1890s of Singapore. So, good job, well done. We enjoyed it a lot. Thank you.

– Beng Ho, OMS Coordinator, EXXON MOBIL

“It was a great day. We had incredible opportunity to work with people that we normally don’t work with. We had a chance to do “teh tarik”. I don’t think people normally get a chance to do that. It brought us back to the good old nostalgic times that was the good old days of Singapore when everybody was having lots of fun. Days of the kampung spirit. That was the pinnacle of the day.”

– Mubarak, Field Safety Auditor, EXXON MOBIL

Our guys had a good time, had a good laugh. Thank you so much to Elton and Qing Hong as well as his crew members for bringing such nice experience to the company. If opportunity arise again, we will definitely engage Village Singapura again. Thanks a lot.”

– George, Fire Supervisor, EXXON MOBIL

“I thought it was very good to work with all the colleagues, many of whom I did not know before today’s event, so it was very good. There was also a very enthusiastic presentation by the host. It was good fun. I think it created a very positive atmosphere from the beginning. You could really feel everyone relaxing and enjoying the experience.

– Chris Zuerner, Global Execution, Project Lead, Concordia Agritrading

“I think it’s very refreshing for me, especially me being a Singaporean, we will go for food and it’s been a long time since I came down to Chinatown and I’m surprised that we really get the chance to go the different hawker centres and bring back the old memories.”

– Jackie Lee, Production Manager, West Pharmaceutical Services

“For me, it’s something interesting. I get to see different function managers running around looking for food.
Yeah. It will be a good team bonding session for them.”

– Joseph, Quality Control Function, West Pharmaceutical Services

“For me, I also find it interesting. I get an opportunity to work with people that sometimes I didnt get a chance to work with. And, I find that we able to relate the activites to our work, rush to do our plannings with limited resource. I think this is different. We usually have like team building activities indoor. So this is the first time we having it outdoors. I think it’s very interesting and refreshing.”

– James, Quality Quality Assurance Manager, West Pharmaceutical Services

“Good team building.”

– Thomas, Supply Chain Manager, West Pharmaceutical Services

“I think very seldom do we get the opportunity to come together. During the game, there are no differences whether you’re the leader or I’m just a team member or whatever, so I think that kind of helped enhanced the relationship. It’s also a good opportunity for new people to get to learn about the older colleagues a bit more, and for the older colleagues who never come together (because we are all over the place in the building), so for them, to come together.

– Michael Low, Deputy Director, Corporate Planning and Services, SOTA

The games were actually very fun because we had olden props and equipment. In that sense everybody enjoyed themselves and that’s where we saw everybody happily smiling and laughing, so I think that was really fun!

– Manager, Schemes and Engagement Branch, Singapore Customs

I enjoyed this Village Singapura experience, as I got to learn more about the old Singapore. It’s interesting. What I liked most was the dressing up part, with the sarong. We were also able to take pictures, and the paper cutting as well, they were all very interesting. So for me, it was really quite a good experience to learn more about Singapore back in the olden days. I was actually quite happy with this, especially the spice station.

– Alberto Piovezani, Senior Business Development Manager, International Enterprise Singapore

“I find that Village Singapura activities are very fun, and the activity that I like the most is the photo-taking because we have all the props and accessories to dress us up.”

– Harniwati, Manager, Learning and Development, International Enterprise Singapore
